THE DISTILLERY OF THE DOMAIN OF COURCELLES - A DISTILLERY OUT OF AGE
The Domaine de Courcelles distillery was founded in the early 1930s, closing in 1964. The owner, Mr Amédée Huygues Despointes, transferred production to the distillery in Sainte Marthe, continuing to use the stills for distillation before closing permanently in 1972. Having been long forgotten, the barrels were bought in 1998 and stored on the island of Marie-Galante. To prevent evaporation, the contents were transferred into casks.More details...

This 38-year-old rum is presented in an elegant yet simple bottle. It has a deep amber colour, but its bright reflections give it a nice shine. The nose is complex and delicious. This 38-year-old rum is presented in a cube-shaped bottle sealed with a wax-covered cork. The amber colour of this 54% rum is deeper and darker than that of the Courcelles 47%, but its reflections still give it a nice shine. The nose is complex, pleasant and powerful.
