Honduran cigars Flor de Selva, a brand created in 1995 by Maria Selva

Today, Honduras has two large cigar terroirs: "Copan" around Santa Rosa de Copan, and "el Paraiso" around Danli. Maya Selva created Flor de Selva in 1995 and made France aware of the terroir of Honduras. In France, unlike Germany, it was almost unknown. She then made amateurs aware of her cigars, whose organoleptic register then seemed to be halfway though Dominican sweetness and Cuban power. They are easy to smoke, aromatic, but with character. Flor de Selva employs some 3000 people. A statistical study has shown that a leaf of tobacco goes through 370 different pairs of hands before it is available on the market. It is quite simply impossible to replace the the look and touch of those who select and blend the leaves; their rigor ensures the subtlety of the blends.
