Just like wine, cigars are not all the same when matured. However, those which mature beautifully often turn out more refined than an ordinary cigar.

The best period of maturity for a cigar is from 5-6 years to 15-20 years. Zino Davidoff said on this subject: " You must have a good sense of smell and sight to notice the effects of ageing on a cigar. This does not mean that the cigar does not continue to live, it's just a more discreet and hardly discernible development."
