Camacho, a Honduran cigar brand with Cuban roots

The Camacho cigar brand has its origins in the Cuban roots of its founder, Simon Camacho. Founded in 1961, the brand was first established in Florida, which has a strong Cuban community. During this period, much of the tobacco came from Nicaragua. With superb production quality and special flavours, the cigar brand easily established itself in the US and international markets. Five years after the death of founder Simon Camacho (1990), the brand was sold to the Eiroa family, an important Cuban family exiled since the revolution. The Eiroa family, major producers of tobacco and cigars for generations, moved tobacco production from Nicaragua to Honduras. As a result of hard work and high production quality, from 2000 onwards the Camacho brand became one of the most highly reputed brands in the United States. The Oettinger Group, which owns numerous brands including Davidoff, purchased Camacho in 2008. However, the fields are still owned by the Eiroa family. Following a brand makeover in 2013, several new ranges are available, offering different tobaccos such as the new Camacho Nicaraguan Barel Aged.
