In 1966, these puros, originally reserved for Fidel Castro and his close relations (among which the Che who told Fidel he had never smoked a better cigar), knowns as "Fidel's cigars", were named Cohiba. Besides Fidel Castro's thin favorite cigar, two more were released in 68-69. Cohiba . It was launched on the international market in 1982. Six years later, the line was broadened by three new vitolas. Five more were added in 1992. Today, Cohiba offers a line of many models as the line Behike or Maduro. All have this in common: they use thrice-fermented leaves which eliminate the nitrates that give cigars that brimstone smell.
