Finding the jewel in the Escobar Cigar range was no easy task. It took years of research, tasting and collaboration to create a blend capable of satisfying even the most demanding aficionados. The ambition was clear: to assert our place in the highly selective world of premium cigars with conviction. The result of this quest is called Ultra.

This adventure would not have been possible without an exceptional partnership with one of the biggest names in the industry: Ernesto Perez Carillo (EPC). A true legend in the cigar world and a master blender who has won numerous awards from Cigar Aficionado, notably for the Encore and Pledge cigars, EPC agreed to share one of his most exclusive blends. Originally reserved for a special internal edition, this unique blend was entrusted to us to bring an ambitious project to life: the Ultra Black Platinum Series. The cigar immediately stands out thanks to its intense black San Andrés Maduro wrapper from Mexico, which envelops a complex blend of carefully aged Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. Upon lighting, the experience is immediately captivating: roasted and slightly tart aromas fill the palate, accompanied by woody notes, black coffee, hazelnut and a subtle sweetness that develops with each puff. In the second third, hints of liquorice, damp earth and undergrowth enrich the palette, adding depth and mystery to the tasting experience.

This medium-bodied to full-bodied cigar reveals itself in all its aromatic complexity and perfect balance between power, roundness and elegance. The inspiration behind the name is none other than the song ‘Ultra Black’ by rapper Nas, who had already collaborated with Hennessy on a special edition.
