Presentation
Bielle 2014 rhum is an exceptional agricultural rum from the island of Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe, a region renowned for the quality of its sugar cane and the unique character of its rums. Distilled in columns in 2014 and aged for seven years in oak barrels, it is bottled ‘cask strength’ (unreduced, unfiltered), retaining all the power and aromatic richness of its origin.
The amber colour of Bielle 2014 already promises an intense sensory journey. On the nose, it seduces with a deep fragrance combining fresh cane, vegetal notes and a delicious palette of fruits, mirabelle plums, peaches and sometimes citrus fruits, enhanced by subtle accents of vanilla, honey and wood.
On the palate, Bielle 2014 unfolds a full-bodied, slightly oily texture with a remarkable balance between power and smoothness. The attack reveals the richness of cane juice, soon accompanied by fruity notes (candied fruit, peach, plum), honey, delicate spices — aniseed, liquorice, clove — and a hint of caramel or gingerbread depending on the batch. The cask ageing refines the profile with woody and vanilla nuances, sometimes a slight bitterness of orange or grapefruit peel, without ever becoming tiresome.
The finish is long and warm, marked by a lingering candied sweetness, a light vegetal freshness and a return to cane and spices — a subtle balance between finesse and character.
