Distilled from 100% Scottish barley and boasting a peat content of 128.9 PPM, Octomore 14.2 retains the youth and vitality that have characterised its predecessors.

However, the liquid characteristics of Octomore 14.2 stand out considerably thanks to the pronounced influence of wine and sherry casks on this spirit.

With an inventory of over 200 different cask types in their warehouses, head distiller Adam Hannett meticulously chose casks that had previously held Oloroso and Amarone. This combination gives the single malt a distinct sweetness and nutty aroma, creating an exceptional expression.

The Oloroso casks come from the renowned wine-growing regions of Spain, while the Amarone casks originate in Italy. These spirits are then blended in French oak casks, giving the single malt remarkable depth and complexity. Octomore's characteristic smokiness blends harmoniously with the Oloroso sherry casks, and the influence of the wood adds a robust and delectable flavour to the whisky's final maturation.

The oak from the Amarone casks also has a significant impact on the spirit, offering rich red fruit notes while bringing structure and cohesion to Octomore 14.2.
