Presentation
The magical saga of Bruichladdich continues with the arrival in stores of Bruichladdich Black Art 11.1, a 24-year-aged edition crafted with a secret recipe. The 11th edition of Black Art marks a new limited and exclusive expression from the famed Islay distillery.
Since its debut in 2012, Black Art has captivated whisky enthusiasts worldwide with its mysterious allure. Unlike Bruichladdich’s usual commitment to total transparency regarding the makeup of their malts, the recipe for Black Art is shrouded in utmost secrecy. Only Adam Hannett, the Head Distiller, knows the exact formula, making each edition unique and irreplaceable. Details about the barrels used, from their origin to their type, remain a mystery, with only the year of distillation, the age of the whisky, and its alcohol content (44.2% vol.) disclosed.
"Each year, I embrace the creation of Black Art with enthusiasm," says Adam Hannett. "As a distiller, having total creative freedom is immensely rewarding. It allows me to dive deep into our cellars, to experiment, to question, and to explore all the possibilities our reserves offer.
" This 24-year-old single malt comes from what are called pre-Renaissance barrels at Bruichladdich, which have aged patiently on the Isle of Islay for nearly three decades, imparting exceptional nuances to the whisky.
